Brentwood is only 29 miles from Central London making it suitable for individuals working in the capital but want to avoid the stress of the city centre. Brentwood offers renters more space compared to London, this makes the town a popular choice for families who enjoy time out in a local park and Brentwood has 16 of them.
In 2019 plans were approved to invest £1bn into new homes, public open spaces, commercial and leisure facilities. The project has the aim to boost sustainable housing supply to match the demands of a growing population while improving the overall quality of life in the area.
It was recently announced that a state-of-the-art re-development was planned to make homes energy efficient and zero carbon, a big step forward to becoming fully sustainable.
Brentwood is becoming a digital business hub with main job sectors being IT, digital and creative. The growth of the area and opportunities it could one day provide people are also helping to increase house prices.
House prices are up 7.82% since February 2020 and the UK’s property market is set to continue to demonstrate its resilience. Property prices in the East of England are set to climb by 17.3% between 2020-2024.
1bn investment into local area.
Prime location near London.
7.8% increase in house prices in last 12 months.
As Brentwood is located on the border of London, commuters and families will no doubt flock to this area due to its open spaces, facilities and prime location. As part of the regeneration in the area, there are also plans to invest £1bn into local facilities including new homes, which gives investors plenty of opportunity to invest in property in Brentwood.
In the last 12 months, house prices in Brentwood have risen on average by 7.8%. This increase should be a major attraction for investors looking for an area with growth. Further investment which is being planned for the area, means house prices are forecasted to rise continuously.
Brentwood has many leisure, retail, green spaces and hospitality amenities to maintain the happiness of its residents. Popular attractions such as the Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, brings in animal lovers from across the country and is number 1 on TripAdvisor for places to visit in Brentwood.
When strolling through Brentwood, you’ll be welcomed by the rich history this area still embraces even in the 21st century. From the Mountnessing Post Mill, to the Nature Reserves and Brentwood Cathedral, there are plenty of opportunities for tourists to turn into residents.
The main high-street in Brentwood has something for everyone and is full of independent shops and popular chains which are easily recognisable and enjoyable, as well as the larger shopping centre: The Baytree, which is situated in the heart of Brentwood and has an abundance of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities for tourists and residents to enjoy.
Brentwood has fantastic transport connections. Located just from the M25 motorway and A12, the area is easily accessible by car but there is also the local Brentwood rail station, which is situated on the Great Eastern Main Line and can transport passengers all the way through to London Liverpool Street in just 42 minutes. All routes stop at Stratford and this provides multiple routes to all parts of London.
Brentwood’s appeal to London commuters will no doubt increase as the completion of the section of Crossrail that will service Brentwood shall reduce the travel time for commuters. There has also been speculation that the Crossrail has seen house prices soar due to the new development.
The project has currently been delayed until spring 2022, however investors with a long term approach will receive the benefits of a faster train service into Central London.
£1 billion has been invested to build new homes, public open spaces, commercial and leisure facilities. This development provides new homes, improved facilities and business space which is guaranteed to be a huge selling point for residents looking to live close by the city but would much rather enjoy life outside of the hustle and bustle.
The Town Centre Regeneration Strategy, is exactly what it says on the tin; to regenerate the town centre. Brentwood Borough Council has pledged to create a place where residents want to work, live and shop as well as making it much more desirable to tourists and visitors passing through the area.
The regeneration strategy also looks at combatting certain elements that can make an area less desirable, these can include crime levels, health services, cleanliness, transport and open green areas. As many residents have shared their concern and interest in these areas being improved, these factors are heavily integrated within the strategy.
Aside from quality of life, the strategy also includes investing in hotels, residential property and office space to provide further opportunities for businesses looking to start-up the area. Transportation is also high on the priority list and the plan has outlined to improve movement around the town centre, as Brentwood can become a diverted route for many drivers. Public transport within the area is already considered a high standard and with a few additional improvements regarding smart bus shelters, overall public transport will be mostly the same.
However, for those not taking the bus to work, residents can look forward to improved pedestrian and cycling markers and lanes, making it easier for people to walk of cycle to the office.
