Latest figures released by the General Council of Notaires have shown that the number of sales of properties in Spain have continued to rise when compared with the previous years figures. The latest figures show an increase of 7.3% compared with a similar period from 2014, marking a period of 18 months of constant growth.
A closer look at the figures show that sales of apartments in Spain increased by just over 6.0% year on year, more than twice the growth rate shown in October 2015. Sales of larger homes also continued to grow, with sales increasing by over 11% for the same period.
Although the figures showed a consistent growth in the number of sales of units, there were less conclusive results when looking at the price of property in Spain. The price of property per square metre showed a fall of 1.1% against the same period last year, with apartments showing a decrease of 0.6%. The total number of new mortgage loans for properties in Spain also increased by 7.3% year on year.
