Since Chinese President Xi Jinping visited in October 2015, the Northern Powerhouse and the prospect of long-term economic growth, have worked together to make Manchester and exiting investment prospect for Chinese buyers.
Manchester is quickly becoming more popular with Chinese investors as the city offers some of the highest yields in Britain. In 2016 alone it is estimated Chinese investors spent a staggering £2.1 billion on development projects in the city. It is also suggested that enquiries for real estate rose by an overwhelming 53.8% compared to previous months.
With the government-backed investment strategy, Chinese investors can take advantage of the new direct flights between Manchester and Beijing. This makes it extremely easy for investors to visit the city and see their investment on a regular basis. Manchester will also benefit from direct flights as it is estimated the tourism spend will increase to £500 million from £250 million.
